-Rodriguez (Katusha), winning the Souvenir Henri Desgranges €5,000 prize
-Majka (Tinkoff-Saxo), with consecutive 2nd and 1st place finishes

On the other hand, Kittel has been noticeably absent - three wins in the first four stages but then not a single €racker since!

Rest Day 1: full prizemoney listings

Welcome to my Rest Day 1 summary! After €337,350 of prizes, it is pertinent that I use this rest day to provide an update on who's won what.

This post includes selected prizemoney commentary, as well as providing the complete list of prizemoney by
-Cyclist
-Team
-Nationaility

Nerdy note: I include the €2800 Team prize for the fastest three riders in each stage by equally dividing the prizemoney by the remaining non-withdrawn riders in that team for that stage. This explains the "odd" amounts in my listing, even though individual prizes for cyclists are in multiples of €10.

Stage 3 - prize money - UPDATED

Bonjour tout le monde.

Stage 3 saw a predictable sprint with a predictable finish. But what does this mean for prizemoney?

Kittel has taken a strong lead with his second stage win with prizemoney up to €16,350. Second is Sagan, mopping up more prize money in the final sprint. He has now scored €11,100 and overtaken Nibali who remains on €8,350.

CyclingPrizes favourite Zak Dempster has finished in 11th, mopping up €540 and is now in 43rd place - this puts him ahead of Contador. Something tells me this won't last until Paris though.

With Demare's 14th place finish, FDJ are off the mark, but remain last on the teams list with just €340 of prizes.

During Stage 3, the only prize was for the intermediate sprint, plus the usual collection of end-of-stage prizemoney. Today the riders won €32,050 in prizemoney, with the total prizemoney won now €99,800 as shared by 69 different riders

Below are the usual:
- Prize money leaderboards (by rider, team and country)
- Prize money won during the stage (sprints and mountains)
- Prize money won at the end of the stage (final classification, team and young rider)
- Prize money for jersey holders (GC, points, KOM, young, combative)

Recap - 2013 Tour De France Prize Money

Here are the top 20 prize money earners for the 2013 Tour De France:

Welcome to Cycling Prizes

Welcome to Cycling Prizes!

Although there are numerous cycling sites that rank riders by various categories, I believe this is the first site to rank cyclists by prize money.

In total there is over €2,000,000 of prize money in cycling's richest race.

This site will track prizes in the 2014 Tour De France and produce a daily summary of prizes won by cyclists, teams and nations.

Update frequency:
I will update each stage (at the latest) by 00:00 GMT but will try to update immediately at the end of each stage. If I'm really lucky, I will update the stages live as the riders pass each mountain or intermediate sprint.

I will start by publishing the final prizemoney results from the 2013 Tour and Stage 1 today.
